Excellent utility for digital photographers

Recently I had to look for, and fix, redeye problems in 400 digital photos.

I used Irfanview to find the photos that needed correction, and Red Eye Remover (Pro) to do the fixing.

The fixing was the easy part. After selecting the files in Red Eye Remover it was a simple matter, file by file, to mark the eye areas that needed to be fixed. I then let Red Eye Remover find the exact pixels that had to be changed, and change them.

Even easier, you can let Red Eye Remover find the eye areas for you - you don't need to select anything within the picture at all. It just takes a little time to process each image to identify the red eyes.

As a test, I also corrected a couple of images manually, using a popular photo editor - what a pain it was to select the exact circle or elipse that had to be fixed, then change it to greyscale, then adjust the gamma to make it look good.

In the end. I had to correct red eye in about 40 of the 400 photos. I would have hated to have had to use my photo editor for that! With Red Eye Remover it was even fun.

I would suggest two chages to make Red Eye Remover even better:

1. Allow it to work in full-screen mode - then it would not be necessary to use an image viewer to identify the images that need correction (assuming that you want to manually mark the eye areas).

2. Speed up the saving of the corrected file - it is painfully slow, a situation that is workable only because of the batch save feature.
